We spend many years of our life studying for a career. Spend half of our life in our career. But when you work for someone else, you are at their mercy. You never know what can happen when walking into work in the morning, especially now. Things have changed so much today. Business are closing all around us. Taxes and costs are going up, paychecks are going down. The climate around us is fear. How secure are we, how stable are our jobs? When I was asked- what are the three things your clients feel when faced with the loss of their job the first, of course, is… Money – where is money going to come from.
Fear -now what? How is my job market? How will I support my family?
Finding a job in a bad market, and what are they going to do, at what salary?
The fear can be so great that you become desperate. And desperate never gets you a job. Remember, when a door closes, a window opens. There are three ideas to look at when its time to move forward.
You need to think fresh!
You are NOT only as good as your last job. Go back through your entire career, all you have learned, all you have accomplished. What jobs, positions and careers you liked, you loved – from your very first real job.
What are your hobbies? What do you love to do? What are your interests? Anything you love to do can become a career. Are there personal things you make or do, for family, for friends, for yourself that others would pay for?
Think outside the box. Is there a career you are curious about, would like to learn more about?
Something that has always been in your gut?
Sometimes it takes going back to school again. Most of the people I meet in alternative healing, natural medicine and flower remedies are adults with kids in school, or grown kids, in their forties and fifties. There are many new careers catering to adults where you can learn online and get certification or a degree, weekend schooling and night school. And a year or two or three, goes quickly! When you blink, school will be finished, so don’t let that stop you, if you know what you want!
I remember talking to a woman who told me she did not know what she wanted to do with her life. She happened to be at her parents home, where she grew up, was cleaning out her drawers, and found papers and pics from grade school. She found a story she wrote about “what she wanted to be when she grew up.” For this woman, it was cutting hair, being a hairdresser….and that is what she is doing now.
All of the time, yes, all of the time, it is inside you. It may take a few months for it to come out, as we are pushed so out of balance living life and we never know the road we will be on at certain times of our life, and this is where flower remedies can help you, and time.
Go get yourself some Wild Oat Bach Flower Essence from your health food store or order Silver Princess from Australian Bush. Take 2 drops 4x daily, and the magic happens. This is for your path.
Its all inside you, bring it out!
